The Canvas. Space Settings.

A space is a collaborative environment that you can use to organize data, draw and upload maps, store sites on top of a simple database, attach plugins, publish websites, and more.

To start, you might want to decide whether your space is public or private, whether you want to keep the canvas blank or show the world map. Go to 'space settings' to set up your space.

Toggling the World Map

Some Horizon projects are meant to center geospatial information, others are not. Under the 'visual' tab, try toggling the 'World View' off and on.

With the World View on or off, you can pan, zoom in and out, and use 'ctrl+click and drag' to adjust the camera. You can also use the 'snapshot' button to set a default view for your space.

Anatomy of a Space

The Space is the center-point of the Horizon workflow. It's where you can organize contents like data and notes, visualize and interconnect data or geospatial information on the canvas, run temporary simulations with added plugins powering dynamic interactions, and where you can create web portals that link your own published content to the interactive exploration of your canvas.

It can be a lot to take in at once. Just remember that the 'space' is where the rest of Horizon features converge.

We'll handle the ingestion of data, its management, its visualization, and its publishing as separate concepts, but just remember that the Space is where all of these actions come together.

Your default space, if you logged in, will start off empty. However if you were invited to a workspace, someone you know may have already developed a space for your perusal.
