Using the Drawing Tool

Draw points, lines, and polygons with the drawing tool

In the ‘map’ tab of a space you can add various shapes interpreted either as points and lines on a world map, or a simple set of shapes expressing nodes and graphs, diagrams, and more.

Use the circle icon to add a point

Lines

Lines, if connecting points directly, will change position based on the points connected to them. If a user draws a line with an intermediate point clicking a point during line drawing, intermediate lines will be interpreted as fixed elements.

Polygons

Polygons have additional features associated with them. When you add a polygon you can utilize a few additional GIS features such as transformations which return a table of only shapes ‘within’ or ‘intersecting’ with a specific polygon.

It is not necessary to be in ‘World’ mode in order to use this feature–it can also be helpful for isolating specific elements in a system diagram such as computing instances within a network.
